How can I prepare for the AKYLADE Risk Management Foundation and Practitioner beta exams?

How can I prepare for the AKYLADE Risk Management Foundation and Practitioner beta exams?

Thank you for your interest in the AKYLADE Cyber Risk Management Foundation and Practitioner beta certification exams! This article provides important information and resources to help you prepare for these beta exams.

Overview of the Beta Exams

The AKYLADE Cyber Risk Management Foundation and Practitioner certifications cover several domains and objectives, including the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Beta exams serve to gather valuable data that will help validate the exam content and ensure the quality of our questions and processes.

Number of Questions and Time

Beta exams are often longer and include MORE questions than you would find on the live, operational exams.

  1. The AKYLADE Cyber Risk Management Foundation (A/CRMF) beta exam will take approximately 120 minutes (approximately 1.5 minutes per question) for a total of 80 questions.
  2. The AKYLADE Cyber Risk Management Practitioner (A/CRMP) beta exam will take approximately 180 minutes (approximately 3 minutes per question) for a total of 60 questions.

Study Resources

At present, there is no dedicated book available for these certifications due to their beta status. However, candidates can utilize several other resources to prepare effectively:

  1. Beta Exam Objectives and Practice Exam:

Candidates can download the beta exam objectives and two (2) full-length practice exams from the AKYLADE portal. These materials will be available for FREE in the candidate portal at www.akylade.com. They provide a detailed overview of the topics covered in the exams and can help guide your study efforts.

If you do not have an account at www.AKYLADE.com please create one and use the same email as your Certiverse account to allow for proper connection between the platforms.

  1. NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) References and Other Source Materials:

The source materials are various NIST references, including the NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-39, NIST SP 800-37, and NIST CSF v2.0.

The objectives states what is tested, and the candidates can use any source materials they like to study for this, but the four above are the main sources (80% of the questions come from those). The remaining questions come from other industry-related documents/regulations/laws/etc.

For example, HIPPA and GDPR are not covered by NIST, but they are on the exam objectives so a candidate should be able to define and recall the basic idea behind each of the listed regulations/laws/terms.
  2. Textbook:

As for a textbook, it is currently being written to supplement the launch of the live exam later this year, but is not available during the beta period. We expect the book to be out by January 1st if everything stays on track.

Since the certifications are aligned with the NIST RMF, reviewing the official NIST RMF guide and documentation is highly recommended. These resources will give you a comprehensive understanding of the framework and its application, which is crucial for the exams.

  1. Online Courses:

There are several courses available on Udemy and other e-learning platforms that offer a basic overview of the NIST RMF. These courses can serve as supplementary material to enhance your understanding and preparation.
